New position - postdoctoral research assistant

Laboratory of advanced optical microscopy, Inst. of Microbiology, in Nove Hrady is looking for a postdoctoral research assistant.
The main areas of research will be development and applications of genetically encoded probes of molecular processes taking place in living cells and supracellular assemblies. The work will include preparing DNA constructs, transfections of mammalian cell cultures and observations by techniques of advanced optical microscopy. The DNA constructs will mostly serve for observations of cell signaling by G-proteins, GPCRs, and by receptor kinases (IGFR, FGFR, EGFR). The Laboratory is equipped with a range of optical setups (some of them unique), and possesses expertise in a multitude of scientific disciplines, ranging from optics and mathematical modeling to biochemistry, genetics and physiology. A successful applicant will have previous experience with molecular biology, and a good ability to communicate in English. Previous experience with mammalian cell culture and/or optical microscopy will be considered an advantage. International candidates are welcome. The position is financed by an international grant, and involves collaboration with several teams in Austria. The salary is competitive. The work is likely to yield publications in top scientific journals. The expected starting date is negotiable, but preferably in the first months of 2018.
