There are several ways to get to Nove Hrady

By air:

The closets airports are:

Linz, Austria: 110 km (1:30 hours by car) from Nove Hrady
Vienna, Austria: 180 km (2:15 hours by car) from Nove Hrady
Prague, Czech Republic: 190 km (2:15 hours by car) from Nove Hrady
Brno, Czech Republic: 190 km (2:45 hours by car) from Nove Hrady

We can arrange for you individual transports between airports and Nove Hrady. Eventually you can travel by public transport.

Public transport:

From Prague, Czech republic

Take a train (recommended) or a bus to České Budějovice and then take either:

a) a bus to Nové Hrady. The bus station in České Budějovice is on the top of the DOC Mercury shopping center, which is very close to the Railway station.

b) a train from České Budějovice to Nové Hrady train station (train line České Budějovice – České Velenice (- Wien)). Train station is located 5km from the town Nove Hrady (conference center). We will transport you from train station to the conference center upon your request.

If any difficulties, please contact us. We will help you to get to Nove Hrady (we can also take you by our car from České Budějovice, 40km from N.Hrady)

From Linz, Austria

Take a train to České Budějovice and then continue to Nove Hrady by bus or by train (as described in travel from Prague). Some trains from Linz terminates in Summerau (the last station in Austria), in that case (especially if there will be no connection train to České Budějovice) we can pick you up by car from Summerau train station (50km from N.Hrady), please contact us in advance.
There is also bus connection from Linz to Gmünd via Freistadt. You can get off in Weitra (14km from N.Hrady) and we will pick you up upon your request.

From Vienna, Austria

Take a train to České Velenice – town on the border between Czech Republic and Austria (it is one town split by the border, the Czech part is called České Velenice and Austrian part is called Gmünd), some trains however terminate already in Gmünd NÖ, the last station in Austria. Trains to to Gmünd/Č.Velenice depart from following Vienna stations: Wien Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof, Wien Spittelau and Wien Heiligenstadt. Then take a train from České Velenice (it is the Czech part of Gmünd) to Nové Hrady train station (train line (Wien-)České Velenice – České Budějovice), where we will pick you up by car upon your request.

Some tips

Currency: Czech crowns (1 EUR = 27 Czech crowns), You can find a cash machine in Nove Hrady. There is no bank or exchange office.

Shops in Nove Hrady usually close at 18:00 (Mon – Fri), at 12.00 (Sat, Sun). You can pay by credit cards.
